Foundational Learning
Our Early Childhood curriculum is the foundation for learning at The Galloway School. Children learn important social skills with an emphasis on their relationship to family, friends, the local community, and the global community. Students are immersed in a literacy-rich environment that promotes a love of reading and includes the basics of reading
and writing through small group instruction, hands-on activities, and technology. Children begin to develop critical thinking skills and reasoning through our hands-on math and science curriculum. Early Childhood students use their senses and curiosity to observe, investigate and explore their world in our STEM class. Integrated into our curriculum are IPC (The International Primary Curriculum) project-based units that expose students to cultures across the world.
Enrichment and Extra-Curricular
Students receive enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities as we focus on helping them become well-rounded citizens. They enjoy music and movement, art, Spanish, and physical education. Students are encouraged to perform, to develop confidence in public speaking, and to support the local community through service learning projects. Many learning opportunities are provided outside of the classroom in our cabin, garden, and field trips that enhance thematic units of study.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Technology is integrated into our classroom as part of our 21st century learning. Students are required to bring an iPad on designated days.
