Academics
The intermediate curriculum is designed for Advanced Placement and G/T learners. Our program will expand on the foundation of skills developed thus far and present a continued challenging core curriculum enhanced by increased extracurricular activities. Intermediate School students will develop the tools to become independent learners as well as team players.
Our course offerings promote interdisciplinary learning through challenge and exploration. All content area course work is designed to help the advanced and gifted learner work with their unique strengths in academics as well as assisting in their personal-social development. Opportunities for experiential learning off-campus will take place to support real-time knowledge acquisition in specified content courses.
Enrichment and Extra-Curricular
Personalized interests are cultivated through a variety of extracurricular courses/clubs as well as opportunities for leadership and community service. Students will be exposed to numerous forms of fine arts and athletics as they look to identify and follow their passions in future grades. Students will experience the School of Rock, a Professional Vocal Coach, Performance Choir, Visual Art, and Theater Arts taught in partnership with the University of Houston Theater Department throughout the year. In physical education, students learn about multiple team sports and can represent the school in Basketball, Volleyball, or Soccer with games and practices at TGS fields and in our NEW gym!
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Technology is integrated into our classroom as part of our 21st century learning. Students are required daily to bring a laptop with word processing and PowerPoint capabilities.
