Welcome! I am so excited to begin our journey together this year! This will be my 17th year teaching at a Christian school. I have had the opportunity to teach science classes to different age levels throughout my career (grades 5-12), and I feel so blessed and grateful for the privilege of teaching God’s children at Galloway this year.  After graduating from the University of Texas-Austin with a degree in Microbiology, I got an opportunity to work in a research lab at UTMB-Galveston for 2 years.  During that time, I completed and obtained a M.S degree from U/H-Clear Lake. I heeded God’s calling to invest my time in teaching, and I attained a teaching certification in Secondary Life Sciences.

My philosophy of education centers on the belief that every child is capable of learning because every child is an image-bearer of God.  Children are to be loved, guided and respected. Psalms 139:14 states that His children are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. Education is one of the most important aspects of growth and development in children, which provides them the fundamental tools necessary to move forward in society as confident, knowledgeable citizens. My goal as a teacher is to help my students grow and learn by providing them with an engaging, high quality instruction using varied teaching methods that meets the individual needs of each student, and to create a God-honoring atmosphere in the classroom, where they can feel safe, motivated and valued to share their unique ideas and achievements.

My husband and I have been blessed with 22 years of marriage and two wonderful sons, ages 17 and 15.  We enjoy travelling together as a family.  My spare time hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening and painting.  I can’t wait to get to know and enjoy my new group of students
