Marissa Stott

Hello Galloway Families!
My name is Marissa Stott, and I am a new teacher here at the Galloway School. I have made my way down from the state of Colorado to join this wonderful new family of educators.
I was born in Denver, CO where I have spent my entire life before moving to Houston some weeks ago. During my time growing up I was a swimmer as well as a cheerleader, so I have a real passion for athletics, and I love to see students push themselves to achieve all that they are capable of.
I have spent the last 8 years of my life going to school and traveling the world. I have a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies, as well as a graduate degree in Elementary Education. I have also been very fortunate by spending some time in Australia as an exchange student during my undergrad, which was very beneficial as I had the chance to see how education was presented to students in another country.
My travels have led me to many new and exciting opportunities in which I worked with children from all around the world. Some of these exciting adventures include being a live-in nanny as well as a camp counselor, where I happened to meet my now husband. He is originally from England, so we find some time once a year to travel out there to visit his family.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. We enjoy traveling and being outdoors. We have recently been exploring the local area and would love to travel more of the state of Texas. I would love any recommendations on good food and interesting places to visit.
I look forward to meeting everyone and I am excited for what this school year is going to bring!
